History
- Construction and Opening: Construction commenced on July 31, 1933, on former horse-riding grounds, and the stadium was inaugurated on May 13, 1934, with a match between PSV Chemnitz and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, which PSV Chemnitz won 5–1.
- Name Changes:
- 1933–1950: Stadion an der Planitzstraße
- 1950–1990: Dr.-Kurt-Fischer-Stadion, named after the Saxon Interior Minister Kurt Fischer.
- 1990–2016: Stadion an der Gellertstraße

- Recent Sell-Out: On March 22, 2025, the Sachsenpokal quarterfinal between Chemnitzer FC and FC Erzgebirge Aue was sold out, with 14,679 spectators, marking the first sell-out since a DFB-Pokal match against Bayern Munich in August 2017.
