My Disappointing Experience at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium

As a dedicated groundhopper, visiting new stadiums is always an exciting adventure, but my recent visit to Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Johor, Malaysia, was far from pleasant. In fact, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had as a football enthusiast.

The trouble began before I even set foot inside the stadium. The traffic leading up to the venue was horrendous. What should have been a straightforward journey turned into a two-hour nightmare, leaving me frustrated and anxious as I watched the minutes tick by. Unfortunately, I arrived just as the first half was coming to a close, missing a significant portion of the match I had eagerly anticipated.

Once inside, the stadium itself was an assault on the senses. The lighting was more suited to a nightclub than a sports venue, with incessant flashing lights that distracted from the action on the pitch. It felt as though the stadium’s planners prioritized spectacle over functionality, leaving much to be desired regarding the overall viewing experience.

The inadequate number of facilities added to the disarray. At halftime, I found myself in a massive queue for the solitary working washroom area. The lack of planning was glaring, and it was frustrating to see so many fans having to endure such long waits for basic amenities.

Exiting the stadium proved to be yet another ordeal. With thousands of people funneled through a single exit, the congestion was unbearable. It was a stark reminder of how poorly designed the stadium was in terms of managing large crowds efficiently.

In conclusion, my visit to Sultan Ibrahim Stadium was marred by traffic woes, an over-the-top lighting setup, inadequate facilities, and poor crowd management. As a groundhopper, I cherish the opportunity to explore new football venues, but this experience left me disappointed and hoping for improvements in the future. For now, it remains a visit I’d rather forget.
